We have just returned from an extensive trip round some of Europe. We started with a visit to Peebles Hydro in Scotland where we played in the Bridge Congress in these beautiful surroundings. Following that we visited the Open Golf Championship at St. Andrews where we saw the stars of golf practising. At St Andrews we encountered Hamish Galloway who provided me with one of my humorous stories. A large family gathering and birthday party followed in Glasgow where Maggie presented me with a birthday cake - an accurate replica of the homepage of this website !!
The culture in the trip was provided by visiting Michael Angelo's David in Florence for the first time. It really is spectacular.This was followed by a trip round Tuscany where we both sampled a wonderful variety of various kinds of wine.Needless to say the food was exquisite and I gained a few pounds. Barcelona was next where we combined the fine architecure of Gaudi with a visit to the Neu camp- the home of Barcelona FC the Champions of soccer. Finally we spent a few days in London with some of our best friends and bridge partners.
Meanwhile I had time to watch some of the Spingold Trophy live on the computer . The result was decided in a spectacular fashion and I give you all the chance to see if you can win the event had you been declaring the board.
Now back in Florida, I am back to updating my website and working on my new courses of lectures and lessons coming in the fall.To check on the style visit lectures and learning. There is a new Tip of the Week here.
